The team behind the mission
Meet the executive team bringing together experience across law, finance, operations, and real estate to lead HEQ forward.
Shael is the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of HEQ. He brings over 15 years of unique real estate experience to the organization and is largely responsible for the oversight and day-to-day management of all business areas, with a focus on corporate strategy, capital partners, and value creation.
Prior to founding HEQ, Shael more recently held executive roles with Republic Developments and Starlight Investments. He was the President and Chief Operating Officer at Freed Developments, where he helped manage and oversee various areas of the business, including corporate strategy, acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, sales, reporting, and marketing.
Shael holds an LLB from Queen's University Faculty of Law and a Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree from the University of Guelph. He is active in several community organizations and charitable initiatives, and enjoys spending time with his family and friends, travelling, and exploring all the wonderful experiences that Toronto has to offer.
Jimmy Suske is the Vice-President of Investments at HEQ. He is an accomplished professional in the private equity space with a proven track record of success in the emerging technology, renewable energy, and commercial real estate industries.
Jimmy's approach to investment is dedicated to empowering individuals and businesses to achieve their financial goals. With a commitment to continuous learning and staying abreast of industry trends, Jimmy is proficient at adapting to evolving financial landscapes and recognizes the need for innovative financial products.
Jimmy holds a degree in finance from Western University. He relishes an active outdoor lifestyle, frequently found on the golf course or lakeside with close friends and family.
